Today it was time to try out the motorized lure for the first time. Elin was even more enthusiastic than with the hand pulled lure! She really gave her everything to catch that buzzing peace of cloth. She really has developed. Her legs open up far more than before, and she has certainly gained some speed as a result.

Only 3 weeks to go until Elins first puppy show. Actually, there will be 3 puppy shows that weekend, and we will attend them all Luckily they are all in the same place *phew*.

We haven’t practiced that much at all. But Elin stands quite nicely already. We will practice some more and hope that she keeps it up when it really counts! Here is a sample:

Ah what a day! After touristing at the sprint competition yesterday, Elin was really psyched into running after the lure! First run was with the open gate, and Elin went after it right away. Then at the second run we practiced with the closed starting gate, and it worked ok. Elin got confused a little by the big clonking sound but after a second she was after the rabbit as a rocket! When reaching the “rabbit” she must have killed it atleast a thousand times, she really threw it around so many times with such furious enthusiasm

Yesterday it was time for Elin’s first racing practice. The training was arranged by the local sighthound racing club. Each dog got two runs. The first run Elin was released in front of the starting gates, and she was immediately focused on the lure. Once the lure started moving and Elin was released, she gave 100% and blazed off after it. When reaching the lure, she gave it a little bite and stood next to it, guarding it !

On the second run, Elin was released through an open starting gate. No problem what so ever. She took off in the same manner as in the first run. We felt the adrenaline pumping as we were so proud of our little beast!

Elin sensed that daddy is going away on a business trip. So she decided to climb into the travel case. Maybe she wants me to take her along. After walking away from the case, she decided to take my wrist watch from the table and carry it to her nest for some chewing. Awww.

Today Elin received one more collar. This is more of a light version that is very suitable during the summertime. The collar is made by Atirakki.

Elin felt very comfortable in this new shirt that she got as a gift from the States from her human grandmother. Aint’ she beautiful? <3
